Trash Chic girlsABOUT TRASH CHIC

OUR PHILOSOPHY

Trash Chic was created in November 2008 after discovering I had crocheted over 20 scarves from wool collected over the years. Not needing quite so many personally, I decided to sell them.

Digging deep in my numerous boxes of fabric, I was then inspired to create some aprons ... frilly, funky and decidedly retro. Again, all made from fabric off-cuts, end of roll, and bits and bobs picked up at car boots and jumbles.

Now there was no stopping me. I moved on to cushions, bags and chokers. Some for me and some to sell!

Having designed and made clothes back in the 80s under the label MAMA OCLO I thought it may be fun to bring a little of this element to Trash Chic. I emptied my wardrobe and had a very successful ''At Home' event.

I love shopping for clothes and being a bit of a 'fashion magpie' I started scouting around for interesting and unusual items to customise and/or sell. It has to be said that not much customising has gone on ... but there are plans for a Trash Chic range of 'Cool Couture' (when time permits).
